Description

I finally had a clear sky. However there was a very bright Waxing Gibbous Moon directly

overhead washing out most of the sky. I decided it would be pointless to try and image

a small galaxy. I decided that it may be better to try and image a bright globular star

cluster. I was hoping that it would not be affected as much by the Moon light. I chose M5

because it was as far away from the Moon as I could get. My image was definitely affected

by the brightness of the sky. I was not able to capture as many stars as I would have if the

sky had been dark and I had heavy light gradients to deal with in the processing. Normally I

would not image when the Moon is washing out the sky but I have not had many clear sky nights

lately so I decided to image in spite of the Moon. With all of that said this is my most recent

image of M5. Please enjoy.
